Old Forge Brewing Company

Old-Forge-Brewhouse There’s no business like beer business. Especially the canned beer business. Old Forge Brewery is a 4 year old brewery in Danville. A town that stands outside of time itself. Drive in restaurants. Train shops. Other oldeny Things. If it weren’t for the Sheetz, you’d think Danville literally froze in the quaintest time possible. Old-Forge-Brewhouse1 Old Forge started as a brewery in just 2011 and distributes the most hip[ster] of all beers, canned beers. At the brewery, we learned that not only do cans keep light from getting in, but they also keep oxygen out better than bottle caps, so your beer doesn’t oxidize as fast.

We had the luck of scoring a tour with brewmaster Damien, thanks to a Pennsylvania Craft Brewers Association auction. Tours are unfortunately not a regularly occurring thing, but at the restaurant you can get a glimpse of the operations through the set up in house. *Not Pictured* Old-Forge-Brewpub1 Sexy stouts, intoxicating IPAs, Old Forge does the full works. Two of the flagship beers, Overbite IPA and T-Rail Pale Ale, are available through distributors if you don’t want to make the journey down. Old-Forge-Brewpub2 On top of the brews – the food at Old Forge Brewery is outstanding as well. The brew pub menu has all the classics done in a great way. We got giant soft pretzels, apple bacon chicken quesadillas and ale grilled chicken sandwiches with rosemary bacon.  True to our nature, we even got bacon dip off the [special menu – can’t find on the menu???] Because you can never. have. too. much. bacon. Old-Forge-Brewpub3 The beer, and the food are highly recommendable, so if you’re ever in the neighborhood, we’d strongly recommend a visit. We’ll definitely be going back.
