Black beans are some of the most versatile of beans. Black bean burgers, black bean soups…I’ve even seen black bean brownies! This dip will be a crowd pleaser guaranteed. Rather than buy a can of scary bean dip, this black bean dip is far tastier, healthier and allows you to control the flavors. The can stuff will never be an option after you try this dip recipe.

Black Bean Dip Recipe
- 1 16oz can black beans
- 2 limes
- 1 onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 bunch cilantro
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
In a pot, heat the can of beans until soft.
While the beans heat, peel and smash your garlic. Roughly chop your onion and cilantro, and roll your lime to get the juices flowing.
When the beans are done, let cool for about 5 minutes. Then, drain (reserve 1 tbsp of the liquid) and transfer 1/2 the beans to the blender. Then add half the garlic, onion, cilantro and juice of one lime. Add the remaining beans, onion, garlic, cilantro, lime juice, and then the cinnamon, salt and pepper. Pulse the mix until all ingredients are incorporated. Then, add the olive oil and puree for about 30 seconds. Check the consistency. If too thick, add in the tbsp of reserved liquid from the beans.
